Bilateral Thumb base joint replacement

Mr Auyeung had done the first bilateral sequential thumb base joint replacement beginning of June. He has seen the patient for the first follow up today. X-rays of the recently operated left thumb looks fine and is more or less a mirror image of the right side that was operated a year ago. The patient has minimal discomfort and was able to mobilise his thumb without any significant discomfort.

The picture in the background shows the recently operated side on the left and the one from last year on the right.
