Mr. Auyeung has carried out the first trapeziometacarpal joint replacement at University Hospital of North Durham. The procedure went well. The thumb had a near full range of motion at the end of the procedure.
Mr. Auyeung used a dual mobility design replacement. This affords a higher degree of stability of the replacement with no obvious signs of any likely dislocation in normal day to day use of the hand.
